Welcome! My name is Kimberly Greer. I am a wife, mom, bonus mom, Registered Nurse (RN) and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

I have been a nurse for almost 8 years, giving support to postpartum moms and their babies and I found my calling in helping families learn to feed their babies. Currently, I am the head of the lactation department at a Baby Friendly Hospital.

I breastfed all of my children and I remember having so many difficulties in the beginning and not having any education or support to help me. I, like so many other parents, was not aware that lactation support was available. With the help of my family members, I was able to overcome my difficulties and breastfeed for close to two years for my girls.

Since then, I have had the extensive training and education required to become board certified in lactation. IBCLC is considered the gold standard for lactation as it requires several college classes, 300-1000 direct hands-on experience hours helping families, 90 additional lactation specific educational requirements as well as continued education requirements to stay up to date after sitting for the international boards exam.

I am passionate about helping families make achievable goals and empowering them with education and support to reach those goals for their families! I am also ready to help adjust goals as the family's needs may change and to help work through any problems or difficulties that may arise through their breastfeeding journey.

I am dedicated to providing the most up to date, evidence based education and skills to help parents make informed and supported decisions on how to feed their babies. I am trained and experienced in all methods of feeding babies and I want to help parents overcome any problems that interfere with their goals and show them how wonderful they truly are!

I would love to help you and your family!!

What’s in a name?

Why the name Alma Adora?

Alma is from a Latin origin meaning “nourishing”, but also translated from Spanish means “the soul”. Adora is a name of Greek, Old German and Latin origin meaning “a gift”, “beloved” or “adored”. This name was chosen because it expresses my sincere desire to help parents with their feeding journeys and explains how breastfeeding is so much more than just nutrition for your baby.

It is nourishing for the body by providing the perfect nutrition for your baby’s ever changing needs and helping optimize mom’s and baby’s long term health and immunity. It is nourishing for the soul by helping create a special bond between mother and baby and fostering healthy attachments and emotional stability in babies. It is nourishing for the mind as it helps fight depression and supports mental health as well as providing support for the baby's growing and developing brain.

It's a beloved gift of nourishment for the soul!
